New Delhi | 13th August 2026 : On the eve of Independence Day, a rare and auspicious event took place at the residence of Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. The first five volumes of Shankar Ramayan, authored by Gurudev Shankar Abhyankar and based on the Valmiki Ramayan, were formally released by him. The fifth volume, Sundar Kand, was published on Ashadhi Ekadashi in the presence of Hon’ble MP Sou. Medhatai Kulkarni. This monumental work comprises 51,000 Ovis across five volumes — a world record in verse-based Ramayan literature. Once the Yuddh Kand and Uttar Kand are completed, the work is expected to reach nearly 75,000 Ovis. A unique aspect of this creation is that Gurudev has handwritten the entire text in his own legible script. During the meeting, Gurudev briefed Hon. Amit Shah Ji about Aditya Pratishthan’s initiatives, including the Sant Bharati project. He also honored the Home Minister with a Mahavastra and a Vitthal-Rukmini idol. The ceremony was attended by a delegation of 8 members from Aditya Pratishthan, including the sponsors of the Ramayan publication, Shri & Sou. Bilagi.
